Drivers should plan for delays and allow extra travel time
The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan for brief traffic delays for pavement work on State Route 66 north of Kingman, from Hackberry Road to Wahanda Way (mileposts 81-104) in Peach Springs.
The following restrictions will occur from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. beginning Monday, Sept. 19, to Wednesday, Sept. 21:
- SR 66 will be reduced to one lane only of alternating east- and westbound travel.
- On-site flaggers will direct drivers through the work zone.
- A 12-feet vehicle width restriction will be in place.
- The speed limit will be reduced.
ADOT advises drivers to be prepared to stop in the work zone and use caution around personnel and equipment.
The restrictions are necessary while crews apply a fog seal, which protects and extends the life of the pavement.
