Community Health Representatives (CHR’s) provide services to improve the quality of life for homebound patients and to provide preventive services to the community as a whole.
CHRs use their skills in healthcare, disease control, and prevention to affect changes in community acceptance and use of health care resources. They are charged with delivering health promotion/disease prevention initiatives set forth by IHS and the Hualapai Health Department. CHR’s provide needed educational and related services that can result in healthier lifestyles and are considered to be very effective health care providers as they have established an efficient network through which health/disease prevention initiatives can be delivered directly to the people.
