Proposed Amendment to Home Site Lease Ordinance

The Hualapai Planning Department announces that on May 23, 2014, it will commence a 15-day notice and public review of the proposed changes to the Home Site Lease Ordinance which was requested by Tribal Council on May 7, 2014, then reviewed and recommended for approval by the Tribal Environmental Review Commission on May 21, 2014, for Tribal Council action on June 9, 2014 at the Regular Council Meeting. The proposed amendment to Section 3.2.A of the Ordinance would increase the maximum residential lease area from 1 acre to 1.5 acres in the communities of Peach Springs, Valentine and the Buck and Doe subdivisions. The proposed amendment to Section 3.2.B of the Ordinance would increase the maximum residential lease area from 1 acre to 5 acres elsewhere on the Reservation.

As part of the public review and comment period, a public meeting is scheduled for June 4, 2014, at the Multi Purpose Building between 5:30 PM and 7:00 PM to discuss the proposed changes to the Ordinance and to seek assistance in defining the boundaries of Peach Springs, Valentine and the Buck and Doe subdivisions to provide a clear line between the 1.5-acre and 5-acre residential lease areas.
